i stumbled upon this site: http://recycledlovesongs.com/indie-music/category/indie-music-2008

and a while ago my friend and i had been discussing our favorite, most bitter break up songs. what are yours?

my favorite five break up songs of all time are:
-stars-your ex-lover is dead
-neko case-set out running
-rilo kiley-breakin' up.
-the mountain goats-no children.
-the pogues-fairy tale of new york.

post 2!

on my way to work this morning i heard a band "the physics of meaning"? and they were playing for kexp before playing at a cmj showcase and they were HILARIOUS. and southern! i looked up their music when i got to work and i think i am not a fan of his voice. musically they are amazing. myspace has all their songs if you're interested.

i have been trying to think of good weekend songs. like songs that get you totally pumped about it being the weekend. so far all i can think of is elton john's 'saturday night's alright for fighting'. i LOVE the community radio station here on saturday mornings, it plays all old country. ooo and i love kexp on thursday nights because they play old country as well.

what songs do you consider "weekend" songs? or maybe songs that in general, make you pretty pumped?

hi friends.
you are invited! i have created this site out of a mixture of boredom and musical love. i thought maybe it would be fun to discuss musical happenings, give recommendations to those who are in need of new music, and even to compare bands? please comment! we like all musical tastes and all musical people!

with that said...
here are some comparisons i have been thinking of.

johnny foreigner sounds like rainer maria, los campesinos!, and pretty girls make graves put together.
destroyer- sounds like wilco, david bowie, and pavement mixed together.
santogold- is MIA with totally hot backup dancers.
MGMT- serious pop rock that reminds me a little of the flaming lips, a little of the polyphonic spree.

what do you think? what are you listening to?
